My work is based on two types: 'Life' and 'Still Life'. In the life studies I look for poise, sensuousness and grace. In my still life paintings I look for character and a sense of time. My chief influence has been Jean Baptist Chardin (1699 - 1779).

I choose to work in oils because of it's flexibility as a medium and also because I wish to relate to that great tradition of still life painting.
